What Have I Been Watching?

Besides American Idol and the Super Bowl, I have not been watching a lot of TV lately.

I did manage to watch two episodes of Chuck last week. Chuck is possibly my favorite show on TV (it’s a close call between Chuck and Heroes).

I also watched LOST, which was a really good episode. I don’t think I like the glimpses into the future, but other than that it’s been fun to watch.

I have been watching Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice and while I enjoy it, the people on the show seem to have less desire to win at all costs than the normal apprentices.

Anyway, I have been rather busy lately, so I might start doing weekly round-ups of shows that I watch, instead of discussing each show separately.

Lastly, I am glad that it looks like the writer’s strike will be over soon. I would hate to see reality TV be the ONLY thing on TV the rest of the year.

Season 2 Premier Of Heroes - Four Months Later

The Season 2 premier of Heroes “Four Months Later” was pretty good. It was mostly an attempt at setting the stage for the rest of the season. I think that next week’s episode (Lizards) will probably give us some insight into what Peter, Sylar, Nikki, and Micah are doing.

My favorite parts of this week’s show were the scene when the Bennet’s were eating dinner and Mrs. Bennet was asking them about their day. That was pretty funny. I also really enjoyed the interactions between Hiro and Takezo Kensei (he’ll always be Julian Sark to me).

My least favorite part of the show was when Hiro’s dad, Sulu, errr… I mean Kaito Nakamura, got pushed off the building by his hooded friend. Even though he was a company man, I was very interested in his character. I am not a big fan of killing off so many of the characters, but that’s way it works.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to next week’s episode of Heroes - “Lizards”. Here is the preview for it:

Dick Wins Big Brother 8, But More Importantly…

Dick won Big Brother 8 which was somewhat anti-climatic for me. However, what I have been waiting for all season happened…

The house guests found out about America’s player

I have been patiently waiting all freaking season to see the reactions of the houseguests when they found out that Eric was America’s player. It much have been really awkward for Eric and you know he was just dying to tell Jessica.

Anyway, I think the America’s player thing was really unfair to everyone involved in the game. It was a good idea, but in some ways it let the show’s executives have more control over the outcome of the show. I don’t think CBS should do that again, and I think they should let Eric come back and compete again without the limitation of being “America’s player”.

Danielle And Dick The Last Ones Standing In The Big Brother 8 House

Danielle and Dick are the last ones standing in the Big Brother 8 house… So who is going to win?

I voted for Eric to vote for Dick as the winner. Danielle was great in the HOH competitions, but many people didn’t want to be HOH early on so it’s hard to judge how tough her competition was at first. In the last Head of Household competion Zach and Dick both blew Danielle away, which is why I think Dick should win. It really doesn’t matter what I think though, because the evicted houseguests will be deciding this.

I am glad that Danielle and Dick seem to have come closer to eachother in the house. I am also glad for Eric and Jessica, they seem very happy together.

So who do you think should win Big Brother 8, Dick or Danielle?

PS. Wasn’t part 3 of the HOH competion lame? I mean, couldn’t they have made it harder like part 1 and part 2?

Jameka Goes Home But Who Wins Head Of Household (Spoiler)

Unfortunately, Jameka went home last night on Big Brother 8. I was hoping they would get rid of Danielle. While she has played the game really well, so did Jessica.

SPOILER WARNING… IF you don’t want to know what happened in the HOH competition don’t read any furhter….

Well, unfortunately the HOH competition is one of those three round things. It makes sense to drag out the HOH competition for the sake of the show, but I personally don’t like it dragging out.

Anyway, Zach won the first round of the HOH competition by outlasting Daniele and Dick in a competition of pure endurance. I don’t think anyone except maybe Nick could have hung in with Zach on this purely physical competition.

I expect Dick and Danielle to decide to let Danielle win the next competition, because she has been so good at the competitions. It will be interesting to see how the final HOH competition works out…

Zach Stands Up - Put’s Dick And Danielle Up For Eviction

I am glad Zach stood up to Dick and Danielle. Big Brother 8 is after all a “game”. Zach has taken the hard road, by playing the game alone. Waiting until the end to step things up is a very risky move, but I understand why Zach chose to do things that way. He just didn’t connect with anyone early on.

The POV this week is important, but the next HOH is more important. If Zach wins the next HOH competition, then he deserves to win it all. It will be interesting to see how things work out.

On a side note, too bad Zach didn’t make a deal with Eric last week. After Zach won POV, he could have used it to take Eric off the block and back door Danielle. Then Zach would be competing against Jameka, Eric and Dick. I think he would have a much better chance of winning in that scenario. However, all in all he has played a smart end game.

Well That Just SUCKS!

Eric and Jessica both went home this evening. Uggh!

Oh well, it’s just a game.

Eric certainly made a great connection with Jessica and I wish them well with their future outside the Big Brother 8 House.

I can’t really say anything more than I have…

It just plain SUCKS!

Rats… Danielle Wins Power Of Veto

Last night Danielle won POV and she left Jessica on the block. I really, really, really hope that Danielle and Dick stick with their alliance of four. It would be great to see Danielle, Dick, Eric and Jessica fight it out in the final four. I really doubt that will happen, but time will tell…

Oh, and if America tells Eric to vote out Jessica… that would be just plain mean.

Anyway, Thursday night on Big Brother should be quite exciting with a double elimination coming up. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens…

Dustin Goes Home And Danielle Wins HOH

Wow! America is really trying to make things hard on Eric. Why don’t you help Eric win, instead of making things so difficult?

Anyway, Dustin was sent home today and if it weren’t for America I would think that Dick, Danielle, Jessica, and Eric are close to shoe-ins for the final four. The problem is that America has become the X factor in Big Brother 8, and in all reality America is determining the direction of the game.

It has been interesting to watch, but I don’t think they should ever do the “America’s player” thing again.

Is America Helping or Hurting Eric?

Last week on Big Brother, America told Eric to vote for Kail to be evicted. If the houseguests had found out that Eric voted to evict Kail it would have meant bad things for Eric. Sometimes America tells him to get someone evicted that the rest of the house wants to stay. I think this is going to hurt Eric’s chances for winning in the long haul. On the upside, we do get to tell him what we want and he is making 10,000 dollars every time he completes a task. All in all, I would say that being America’s player is better than being a regular contestant.

What do you think?

Joe Goes Home and Dick Get’s HOH on Big Brother 8

I haven’t been watching much TV this summer, but I have been watching Big Brother 8. I was happy that Dick wasn’t evicted tonight, and even happier he won Head of Household (HOH). I would really like him to stick around long enough to mend his relationship with his daughter Danielle.

Were you happy with the results?

Survivor Finale

Those of you who watch Survivor know that last night Earl won this season of Survivor. But I’m curious to know what you think of Dreamz keepng the truck and then failing to follow through with the immunity idol. The way I see it, that was in a completely different class than lying about who you’re going to vote for. It was a form of verbal contract, where Dreamz received a $60,000 payment for the immunity idol. I understand how impossible it would be to give up the idol, and I really appreciated that Yau-Man said it was his fault for putting Dreamz in that position. BUT, the way I see it, Dreamz needed to either give back the truck or hand over the immunity idol. What do you think?

Survivor Cook Island Winner is -

Yul Kwon won the 13th edition of Survivor - “Cook Island”. He narrowly beat out Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth.

I really thought Ozzy should have won. They were both strong contestants, but Ozzy seemed invincible in the immunity challenges. I think that host Jeff Probst may have felt the same way. Jeff Probst said, “It’s the first time I’ve ever felt bad that somebody didn’t win, It was so evenly matched.”

That said, Yul was certainly one of the best players and finding that immunity idol may have been what helped him win the 5-4 vote.

Who do you think should have won?
