What Have I Been Watching?

Besides American Idol and the Super Bowl, I have not been watching a lot of TV lately.

I did manage to watch two episodes of Chuck last week. Chuck is possibly my favorite show on TV (it’s a close call between Chuck and Heroes).

I also watched LOST, which was a really good episode. I don’t think I like the glimpses into the future, but other than that it’s been fun to watch.

I have been watching Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice and while I enjoy it, the people on the show seem to have less desire to win at all costs than the normal apprentices.

Anyway, I have been rather busy lately, so I might start doing weekly round-ups of shows that I watch, instead of discussing each show separately.

Lastly, I am glad that it looks like the writer’s strike will be over soon. I would hate to see reality TV be the ONLY thing on TV the rest of the year.

American Idol Starts Tonight!

American Idol is one of my favorite TV shows and it starts tonight… Wooohoo!

We (mostly Jill) cover it on our American Idol blog, so head over there to keep up with the latest news from American Idol.

Jericho - Online Fun While We Wait For The Spring

I am not happy with all the networks doing this wait until February thing. I imagine it’s an attempt to compete with American Idol, but really, why bother?

We cover American Idol, and I just can’t imagine it being beat out by any show in the near future. American Idol beat out the Olympics last year for crying out loud!

Anyway, at the end of last week’s episode, they showed a blurb that said:

goto: whodroppedthebomb.com

If you go there you get taken to the Jericho page on CBS. It’s pretty cool what they have done with it. They have a Jericho Wiki, forum, videos, etc. It’s going to take a while to get through it all. I am really liking the way television networks are branching out onto the web. It’s very cool!

Stop messing with my DVR!

JP over at SfSignal wrote this post, listing some of his annoyances with my favorite show Heroes on NBC. I wanted to talk about his first point:

This one really bugs me to no end and I don’t know whose fault it is. Time Warner’s for having crappy time servers feeding time to the set-top boxes, or NBC for running Heroes long, but the last three episodes I’ve recorded have all ended with at least one minute left, if not more…

It bugs me too. It’s not only NBC though. ABC started this trend of letting shows running longer. LOST, Desparate Housewives, and some other shows always run about 5 minutes past the hour. I noticed FOX doing the same thing sometimes with American Idol. Uggh!

I wish the TV networks would stop doing that. I don’t want to miss the end of the show, because my DVR doesn’t automaticly add 5 mintues to the end of these shows. I don’t want to miss the begining of the next show if it’s on another network. The television networks need to just stop doing this!

That said, it’s not going to stop me from watching LOST or Heroes. It’s just annoying…

PS. What’s even more annoying is trying to set the DVR to record the Amazing Race on Sunday night. It’s nearly impossible to know what time the Amazing Race will be on at, because of the football delays.
