A Few Thoughts On Heroes Episode 20 - String Theory

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

As always, I really enjoyed last night’s episode of Heroes. There were a few minor things that bothered me, like when Sylar pulls Peter through the wall, why in the world didn’t Parkman realize what was happening?

I thought they did a good job of keeping me on the edge of my seat. I was totally caught off guard by Sylar’s appearance in the show. Afterwards, I was wondering why I couldn’t see that coming. I was also caugh off guard when Matt Parkman stunned future Hiro and Peter walked in to save the day.

Anyway, one of the unanswered questions that the future posed was, “How did Nikki and Peter hook up?” If you want the answer, then you have to go check out this week and next week’s Heroes comic books. You can read this week’s comic by clicking here.

Next week’s episode looks quite cool. Do you think they will finally kill Sylar? I am thinking they won’t kill him, but I would love to see Sylar gone. We shall see…

Who Will Die Next Week On Jericho?

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

At the end of last night’s episode of Jericho (ep 21 - Coalition of the Willing), the preview trailer for episode 22 (Why We Fight) said that someone will die. So who will it be?

I think it’s going to either be Gray Anderson or Johnston Green. What do you think?

This post was inspired by zintradi comment that Hawkins would die. Here is a list of zintradi’s reasoning:

First are some statements by Carol Barbee in Tv Guide (could just be misinformation, but you never know)
She said that the death will be of someone that has a 4 or 5 year contract and will be a big shock. Also it will clip the story arc about “who dropped the bombs”. What other character could be linked mre closely to the whole bomb plot than him (but maybe thats what she wants you to think)

Second,(this is the “lost” type reason)
Lennie James gave an interview to Cnn where he talked about missing his wife and children. He said how hard it’s been and if jericho gets picked up again, he’ll have some decisions to make. That interview was published 4/24, but something tells me that the decision has been made and Lennie will retire back to London, Jericho or no Jericho.

I can’t imagine them getting rid of Hawkins, but I guess anything is possible…

Why Couldn’t She Have Just Said, I Love You The Way You Are?

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

In last night’s episode of Heroes we got to briefly meet Sylar’s mom. Why couldn’t Sylar’s mom have just told him he was just fine the way he was? Uggh… Now we have to put up with Sylar, until they kill him off…

Moma Gray, what’s wrong with you? Gabriel was a good watchmaker, that’s all he wanted to be… instead he has to fix kill everyone who has superpowers. Oh well…

I had a couple of questions from last night’s show, but one in particular that’s bugging me:

Did Sylar stop Hiro’s power from working or did Hiro lose his concentration and unfreeze time?

My thought was that Hiro lost his concentration, but what if Sylar can unfreeze time?

The next couple of episodes look really good. I look forward to seeing how the whole bomb thing goes down. Guess we will know soon enough…

Is Locke Really Dead?

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

I just got around to watching LOST and wasn’t surprised by the ending. You want to know why?

Earlier today, I was sitting at my computer and brought up Yahoo.com. One of the top stories read, “Is Locke Really Dead?” I was like, what the… Uggh! So, I kind of knew ahead of time that Locke was going to be in a life or death situation at the end of the show.

What makes this even more funny, is I went over to my favorite LOST Forum (lost-forum.com) to check out what people were saying about it. I starting reading a forum post and half way through the post someone compares Locke being killed to the person who was killed on Jericho. Guess what?

I haven’t gotten around to watching Jericho yet and now I know who died on it! Double Ugghh!

What made it even more hilarious was that before watching tonight’s show, I told my wife Jill that I wanted to watch LOST tonight and Jericho tomorrow because I knew a secret about the show. To which she responded, “Maybe we should watch Jericho, so that you don’t find out a secret about Jericho before we watch it.”

I responed by telling her there was NO WAY that would happen.

BOY WAS I WRONG! Teaches me for not taking Jill’s advice.

Long story short, Do you think Locke is dead? They can’t really kill him off, can they?

Quick Note On Jericho Episode 22: Why We Fight

Monday, May 14th, 2007

I watched the season finale of Jericho (Episode 22: Why We Fight) this weekend, and man it was it good! What a great ending! After Heroes, Jericho is easily the best show on TV. I really, really, really hope CBS renews it.

So, what did you think of the season finale? Were you surprised by who died?

Survivor Finale

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Those of you who watch Survivor know that last night Earl won this season of Survivor. But I’m curious to know what you think of Dreamz keepng the truck and then failing to follow through with the immunity idol. The way I see it, that was in a completely different class than lying about who you’re going to vote for. It was a form of verbal contract, where Dreamz received a $60,000 payment for the immunity idol. I understand how impossible it would be to give up the idol, and I really appreciated that Yau-Man said it was his fault for putting Dreamz in that position. BUT, the way I see it, Dreamz needed to either give back the truck or hand over the immunity idol. What do you think?

Heroes Spinoff - Origins Coming In The Fall

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

My friend John DeNardo from sfsignal, just told me that NBC is going to be spinning off a show from Heroes. It is called “Heroes:Origins”. Origins will introduce us to new Heroes and let us choose which ones stay for the following season.

It sounds like an interesting idea to me. What do you think?

Three People Were Killed Off Last Night On Heroes Landslide

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Last night’s episode of Heroes (Landslide) was pretty good. I didn’t like it ending with the multiple cliff-hangers. I did like that Linderman, and Thompson got knocked off. I didn’t see that coming. I hope DL survives the gunshot.

I know they will be ending on a cliff-hanger in next week’s season finale, but I really hope they resolve the whole “bomb” issue first. We shall see…

New Poll - Is Sylar Really Dead?

Monday, May 21st, 2007

In our previous poll we asked:

Will Sylar die by the end of this season of Heroes?

And the results were mixed:

* yes: 31% (9)
* no: 45% (13)
* yes, but he will come back to life: 24% (7)

So what do you think? Is Sylar dead or not?

My Thoughts On The Season Finale of Heroes

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

I just went over and read my friend John’s thoughts on the season finale of Heroes and I thought I would go ahead and share my thoughts on it.

In some ways I thought the show as a bit anti-climatic. It played out the way you would expect it to play out based on Isaac’s final comics.

First, my favorite parts:

A few things did happen differently, so the Heroes can change the future. As Claire said last night, “The future is not set in stone.”

Sylar might be dead, although the blood trail to the open sewer might suggest otherwise.

Peter didn’t blow up New York (just his brother Nathan).

Nikki is slowing turning into a likeable character.

The moment Molly found out that Micah had a power, the look Molly gave Micah was cool.

We found out HRG’s real name is “Noah”.

All the Heroes teaming up to fight Sylar was like right out of the comics - fun to watch.

Now for the bad things,

Why in the world couldn’t Peter fly into the air without Nathan’s help?

Nathan appears to be dead. I liked Nathan.

Sylar might be dead. As much as I don’t like him, he has some cool powers that are fun to watch.

Matt Parkman might be dead. I liked his character better on Alias, but I don’t want to see him leave.

Why couldn’t Claire pull the trigger? She knows Peter wouldn’t die.

The scenes with Hiro and Sylar were a little lame. If Hiro knows where Sylar is, then Hiro should be able to kill Sylar with no problem.

I thought they might introduce us to “the other” boogie man that Molly can find. Unless he dragged Sylar down the manhole to eat Sylar’s brain, I am disappointed the other boogie man didn’t show up at the end of this show.

The end wasn’t that big of a deal to me. So Hiro’s back in the past? Who cares?

Final Thoughts on Heores

Overall, I thought the final episode of Season 1 was good, but it disapointed me at times. I am still very much looking forward to next Season and Heroes is still my favorite tv show.
