I just went over and read my friend John’s thoughts on the season finale of Heroes and I thought I would go ahead and share my thoughts on it.
In some ways I thought the show as a bit anti-climatic. It played out the way you would expect it to play out based on Isaac’s final comics.
First, my favorite parts:
A few things did happen differently, so the Heroes can change the future. As Claire said last night, “The future is not set in stone.”
Sylar might be dead, although the blood trail to the open sewer might suggest otherwise.
Peter didn’t blow up New York (just his brother Nathan).
Nikki is slowing turning into a likeable character.
The moment Molly found out that Micah had a power, the look Molly gave Micah was cool.
We found out HRG’s real name is “Noah”.
All the Heroes teaming up to fight Sylar was like right out of the comics - fun to watch.
Now for the bad things,
Why in the world couldn’t Peter fly into the air without Nathan’s help?
Nathan appears to be dead. I liked Nathan.
Sylar might be dead. As much as I don’t like him, he has some cool powers that are fun to watch.
Matt Parkman might be dead. I liked his character better on Alias, but I don’t want to see him leave.
Why couldn’t Claire pull the trigger? She knows Peter wouldn’t die.
The scenes with Hiro and Sylar were a little lame. If Hiro knows where Sylar is, then Hiro should be able to kill Sylar with no problem.
I thought they might introduce us to “the other” boogie man that Molly can find. Unless he dragged Sylar down the manhole to eat Sylar’s brain, I am disappointed the other boogie man didn’t show up at the end of this show.
The end wasn’t that big of a deal to me. So Hiro’s back in the past? Who cares?
Final Thoughts on Heores
Overall, I thought the final episode of Season 1 was good, but it disapointed me at times. I am still very much looking forward to next Season and Heroes is still my favorite tv show.
