Another Heroes Preview for Next Week’s - Like Any Parasite

Here is another preview for next week’s episode of Heroes, “Like Any Parasite” that was shown on Rachel Ray’s show:

Heroes - Company Man

Last night’s episode of Heroes revealed so much. Here are my quick thoughts on the show.

It was really interesting to have a look into HRG’s past. I would really like to know what he was doing before he applied for the job in the paper business.

We found out that Hiro’s dad is one of HRG’s bosses.

We found out that HRG worked with Claude and tried to kill him.

I really enjoyed the thought conversations between Matt and HRG. It was kind of funny when HRG was thinking in Japanese.

My favorite quote from the show was when Ted had the dog and said to Matt,
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to nuke the dog, I wouldn’t hurt Mr. Muggles.”

What a cool/sad way to the end the show… Dad protecting his daughter. I kind of like HRG even though he is working with what seems to be the “bad” guys.

This week’s comic sheds a little more light on why Mr Bennet is so attached to Claire.

Oh, and don’t they reveal a little too much in the previews for the next show. When you saw the preview for next week’s show, didn’t you think something like “Oh my goodness… Simone…”

If you didn’t catch the preview for next week’s show, here it is:

Heroes - Unexpected

I am a bit under the weather today, so I am going to try to keep this quick…

Last night’s episode of Heroes was AWESOME!

In the previews, they said someone would die, but I never even thought it would be Simone. That was very unexpected. I thought for sure it would be Claire’s mom.

The name of this episode “Unexpected” came from a quote of Peter’s. When the Haitain and HRG found Claude and Peter, Claude asked Peter,
“What are you doing?” to which Peter replied, “Something unexpected.”

Speaking of Peter, now that Peter can control his powers he kind of reminds me of Neo from the Matrix.

It was cool to see Stan Lee make a cameo as the bus driver who asked Hiro, “Hey young fella, all by yourself?”.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to the next episode, because according to the cast of the show we will learn a lot about HRG’s past next week. That’s not too surprising since the previews show him being grilled by Matt, Ted, and Hanna.

Heroes - Run

As always, last night’s episode of Heroes was really good. As always, there were characters not in the show. The biggest surprise to me was that Peter wasn’t in this episode. Peter, Ando, Hiro and Claire seem to be in every episode, but not last night.

If you want a really good recap check out the Heroes wiki.

As for my take, I really liked the show. It was one of the few times I didn’t mind watching Nikki/Jessica. I think it is because throughout the show she was always Jessica and she was always the bad guy.

Sylar’s new special ability is WAY cool. Too bad Sylar has it!

Anyway, I am short on time. If you missed next week’s preview or if you haven’t seen the Canadian preview, here are both the previews from the US and Canada (via youtube):

Heroes Director Blog

I didn’t realize this, but Heroes director Greg Beaman has a blog. It’s really interesting to read. I think it would be especially interesting to people with a background in theater (for instance my wife Jill).

You can check it out by clicking here.

Heroes Five Year Plan

I just read over on sfsignal about an excellent interview with the creators of Heroes.

I was very happy to hear about their five year plan.

I also enjoyed reading this:

Kring also described that Niki’s split-personality ‘power’ was originally written as ability to be in two places at once, highly fitting for a single mother.

UGGH! That would have been a much better super power than a split personality… guess you can’t win them all…

You can check out the full interview here.

Why Heroes is Better Than Lost

I watched Lost last night and really enjoyed it, but…

I like Heroes WAY better than LOST!

On LOST I feel like we never learn anything about what is really going on. Occasionaly we get clues, but for every clue there are 10-20 more questions. LOST is a never ending series of questions that may or may not get answered at the end of the show (I doubt that they will answer them all).

Heroes raises many questions, but many questions get answered. You always have a feeling like answers are coming soon and in many cases they do.

In other words, trying to figure out the answers on LOST is frustrating, on Heroes it is not so frustrating.

What do you think? Do you like Heroes better than LOST or vice versa?

Mohinder’s Map Reveals Some Interesting Things

If you haven’t seen it on the Heroes website yet, NBC displays part of Mohinder’s map here. What is interesting is that it shows some names and locations of superhumans listed with their abilities.

The two names with abilities are interesting:

Tracy Chobham
4 Pear Lane
Teleportation

Felipe Acera
180 Normadie St.
Phasing in Tapei

Apparently, Hiro’s and DL’s power are not so unique…

Thoughts on Heroes Chapter 14 - Distractions

Heroes Chapter 14 was really entertaining. Some of it was predictable (like Nathan being Claire’s dad), but all in all it was a lot of fun to watch. Here are some of my thoughts on last night’s episode…

I thought for sure that Claire’s mom was going to be dead, but when Claire’s dad came storming in with the Haitain, that was not only a surprise, but REALLY cool. In fact, it was one of the coolest moments in the show’s brief history (and there have been some pretty cool moments).

When Peter figured out that by remembering people he would take on their powers, Peter started to look like he was going to explode. Until Claude (the invisible man) punched him in the face and knocked him out. That was the funniest moment in the show. I guess Peter needs the invisible man to follow him around and punch him every time he looks like he is going to explode.

I thought it was funny that the counselor was talking about making Nikki and Jessica’s personalities merge. That’s about the only thing that would make her character interesting to me. When the counselor said that, Jill turned to me and said, “Jessikki“. It was on my wish list after all!

My vote for the next hero to be killed off is still Nikki, just slightly ahead of Sylar on my list.

Anyway, those are my quick thoughts on Heroes episode 1×14 - Distractions.

What did you think of the show?

Update: Forgot to mention that John of SFSignal mentioned to me that the license plate on George Takei’s van was “NCC-1701″ a number from Star Trek’s USS Enterprise star ship.

The Heroes Mark Revealed

If you don’t normally read the Heroes comics, you should really read the latest one (#18). It explains the purpose of the big hypodermic needle that Claire’s Dad injects into the Heroes when he and the Hatian capture them. Which in turn explains the reason for the mark on all of their necks.

You can check it out here.
