Is The Amazing Race Fixed?

Last year my husband and I joked that The Amazing Race was fixed because every time the hippies were in last place, it was a non-elimination round. Now, history seems to be repeating itself. Even though Kentucky JUST pulled themself up from last place by getting the fast forward last week, this week they ended up at the bottom of the race again. AND… It was a non-elimination round! So, what do you think? Are the non-elimination rounds truly pre-determined OR does the show alter things to allow favorites (or at least more interesting contestants) to stay in the race?

I think they may time the non-elimination to keep more interesting people on the show. But this time it’s a lot harder to stay in the race, so I doubt that team Kentucky will pull it off again.

It would be an interesting study to go back to the previous seasons and try to determine if the most interesting or well liked contestants were the ones who lost on non-elmination rounds.
