LOST’s replacement “Day Break” is…

Monday, December 4th, 2006

I just wanted to make a quick note about the new ABC series called “Day Break”. It is replacing LOST during LOST’s hiatus. When I saw the previews I thought,

“Uggh… groundhog day the series???”

I have been hesitant to write about it, because I keep thinking to myself,

“This can’t really be good, can it?”

So far, Day Break has been quite good and has managed to keep me very interested in the plot and the characters. One thing I find kind of odd is that while the main character “Brett Hopper” always maintains any injuries he has from day to day (the same day), other characters don’t. I wonder why that is?

Also, at first the days were staying the same, but now the things he does affects the next day.

What do you think of “Day Break”?

Jericho - Online Fun While We Wait For The Spring

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

I am not happy with all the networks doing this wait until February thing. I imagine it’s an attempt to compete with American Idol, but really, why bother?

We cover American Idol, and I just can’t imagine it being beat out by any show in the near future. American Idol beat out the Olympics last year for crying out loud!

Anyway, at the end of last week’s episode, they showed a blurb that said:

goto: whodroppedthebomb.com

If you go there you get taken to the Jericho page on CBS. It’s pretty cool what they have done with it. They have a Jericho Wiki, forum, videos, etc. It’s going to take a while to get through it all. I am really liking the way television networks are branching out onto the web. It’s very cool!

Monday, December 4th, 2006

The other day, we got a comment on this post about the season finale of Jericho by someone at CBS Inner Tube. The comment reads like this:

Looks more like a press release than a comment to me. That said, I kind of like the fact that CBS submitted a comment on our blog. I approved it because I decided it wasn’t spam.

Would you call it spam?

Thoughts on Heroes Chapter 11 - Fallout

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

After watching Heroes Monday night I decided that there was almost too much for me to discuss. That’s why I haven’t posted yet. Here are my thoughts on Heroes Chapter 11…

My favorite parts of the Show:

I thought it was cool when DL used his power to make the bullet pass right through his head.

I thought it was great when Nikki turned herself into the police. Of course, you know she will break out, Jessica won’t let her stay in prison.

When Peter and Matt were reading each others thoughts (as I predicted). That was cool, especially when Peter read Audrey’s mind.

Lastly, when Isaac asks Eden what use is painting the future if no one can change it. Eden then tells him to change it, and gives Issaac a cell phone and security card.

Predictable moments of the show:

Let’s not go there…

Funny moments of the show:

When Hiro says, “I really need to find that sword.”

When Ando and Hiro discussed Save the Cheerleader…

Ando: “No, no, save the cheerleader, then save the world.”

Hiro: “No, it’s an “if, then” statement.”

Ando: “How do you know?”

Hiro: “I was the one who said it!”

Ando: “Future you doesn’t count as you.”

Lastly, when Matt read Audrey’s mind after Audrey has a thought about Matt being “cute”.

“What the…” moments in the show:

When the Hatian tells Claire he is not going to erase her memory.

Pretty much all the creepy stuff I describe later…

My least favorite moments of the show:

When Eden dies. I really liked her character. At least we know from the comic book that Sylar won’t be taking her powers.

Disturbing/Creepy Moments in the show:

When Nathan walks into Peter’s cell, they are talking about saving the world and then Nathan turns into Sylar and says “How can you save the world when you know nothing about Power.” (or something like that). Then Peter wakes up.

After being released from Jail the episode ends with Peter fainting. He has this strange dream where it looks like he is going to explode. Nathan walks up to him with a very grim look on his face. It looked like Nathan was going to sacrifice his life and fly Peter into space to explode harmlessly in the air. That would just stink, because I really like Peter. Why can’t Nikki explode?

Go read the Heroes Chapter 11 Comic

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

If you watch Heroes, then you have to go check out this week’s comic.

Sylar doesn’t have Eden’s power because she did shoot herself in the head and Sylar is still captured.

Boy do they give away a lot in those comics…

Hiro on Studio 60

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

I just read on SFSignal that the actor who plays Hiro Nakamura on Heroes (Masi Oka) is going to be in a guest star on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Mai will be playing himself as the host of the show within the show.

Unfortunately, there are rumors that Studio 60 will be cancelled. I hope that doesn’t happen, since it’s a pretty good show. I imagine the episdoe with Masi Oka will air, whether or not it get’s canceled.

Three Wishes for Heroes - Can You Say Jessikki?

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Heroes is taking it’s hiatus until the end of January. In the meantime, I have compiled a wish list for the show. I hope the show’s writers can make this happen:)

1. I do not, not, not want the show to end with a nuclear explosion and Hiro going back into the future to start all over again.

2. I want for them to either kill off Nikki, keep Nikki locked up in prison, or make her split personalities merge into one person, let’s call her Jessikki for now. Jessikki has the super strength of Jessica and the slightly more sane personality of Nikki.

3. I would like Hiro to find the sword.

Those are my three wishes for Heroes when it returns. What would you wish for from Heroes?

ABC To Protect LOST, WooHoo!

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

ABC announced that they will be moving LOST into the 10pm time slot once it returns. So LOST won’t be competing with American Idol.

WooHoo! That is great news in so many ways. I enjoy American Idol, I enjoy LOST. If push came to shove, I would choose American Idol over LOST. This way I don’t have to.

I found this on Variety’s site. However, there was some bad news in the article…

The absence of the last five episodes of Day Break in ABC’s lineup, opened up some questions about it’s fate. Which is too bad, since I enjoy watching Day Break.

Why can’t Nikki explode?

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

I mentioned in this post that I wish Nikki was the one who was going to explode, not Peter. Apparently, JP over at sfsignal has similar thoughts on Nikki.

JP wrote an excellent review of the first 11 chapters of Heroes. I suggest going over to sfsignal and taking a look. It’s a great read!

Quick Thoughts on Day Break - What If They’re Stuck?

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

Interesting title for an episode, eh?

Here are my thoughts on last night’s episode of Day Break…

It seems like the old surfer dude in prison was giving Hopper hints that he was living this day over and over again as well. It make me wonder if a couple of weeks back the guy in the bar who said something along the lines of “I told you they would win”, is living the same day over and over also. How many others are living this day over? Wouldn’t it stink if a bad guy is reliving the day over and over again?

I found it interesting that Chad seemed to believe Hopper so quickly. At least it sure seemed liKe Chad believed Hopper. We know Chad knows more than he is willing to divulge, but maybe he isn’t as bad as I thought he was.

My favorte line in the show was when the mystery bad guy asks Hopper if he believes in Deja Vu. Maybe he is living this day over and over again as well.

I thought it was pretty funny when Detective Hopper called Damien to ask to speak with the guy in his trunk. But that wasn’t my favorite scene.

My favorite scene in the show came at the very end of the show, when Hopper looks in Chad’s car and sure enough the black book is there. Hopper takes the book and leaves Chad the money that Chad claimed Hopper owed him. That was great!

What was your favorite part of the show?

Heroes Will Be Back January 22 2007

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

Here is the preview for the re-start of Heroes on January 22:

The good news is that I won’t be missing an episode of Heroes while I am in Florida, like I will when the Apprentice starts back up. The bad news is we have to wait until January 22 to see another episode. At least it’s a shorter wait than the wait for LOST

Fun Interview with Hiro

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Masi Oka (Hiro on Heroes) did an interview with Scott Porter (Jason Street on “Friday Night Lights”). They basically interviewed each other. One of the more interesting parts was Masi’s take on time travel.

Anyway, they talk a lot of sci-fi and it’s a fun read. So go check it out.

Have you voted for the People’s Choice Awards? Heroes and Ugly Betty are both nominated.

Hiro and Peter Interviewed on the View

Monday, December 11th, 2006

The actors who play Hiro (Masi Oka) and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) on NBC’s hit show Heroes (my favorite show) were interviewed recently on The View.

From a show perspsective the most revealing thing in the interview was that Peter will eventually learn to control his Mimic powers. Overall, it’s a fun interview.

Here is a vidoe replay of the Interview with Milo and Masi:
