Is there more going on in Jericho than meets the eye?

Last night on Jericho, Dale murdered Mitchell. It made me wonder…

Did Dale murdered Gracie as well?

Dale was angry with her. Maybe he knew about the will. Maybe there are clues on Dale’s Myspace page. We don’t know much about Dale, but he does have a chip on his shoulder. Even though it sure seemed like Mitchel did it, I think Dale might have been the murderer.

Last night’s show had a GREAT cliffhanger ending!

I wonder if Hawkins is really a changed man and that is why he is telling a lie about being compromised, or if he is lying because…

HE IS THE TRAITOR!

I think it’s because Hawkins is the traitor. I bet Hawkins was somehow pulled into the conspiracy to nuke the government, then he stole one of the nukes, thus becoming a traitor. He is keeping in touch with the bad guys, so that he can try to stop them at some point. Which would mean…

The bad guys are coming to Jericho.

At least, that is my current theory on his story.

Jake on the other hand remains a mystery.

Jericho–Am I the only one who finds Eric and Mary repulsive?

Are we supposed to like them as a couple? Are we supposed to hope he goes back to his pregnant wife? I just feel repulsed whenever I see them together. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Quick Recap - Season Finale of Jericho Episode 11: Vox Populi

Here is a quick recap of Jericho Episode 11: Vox Populi:

Townspeople go on a manhunt for Gracie’s suspected killer - Jonah.

Jonah hides out at his daughter Emily’s house.

Jonah claims he was attacked by his men (lead by Mitchel) and framed for the murder.

Gray and his group find Jonah and bring him in.

Gray eleceted Mayor.

Stan and Mimi become more than just friends

Hawkins gets message, that the traitor has been exposed. Whoever Hawkins has been communicating with wants to meet with Hawkins.

Hawkins decides to be a family man and lies to them about being compromised.

Dale gets threatened by Mitchel.

Dale runs to the town hall to tell the authorities it was Mitchell that killed Gracie.

Gray is “transfering” Jonah to a different cell, when Jake and company arrive. Jake saves Jonah’s life.

Jonah is exiled from Jericho.

Dale Kills Mitchel.

Airplane people arrive in Jericho, reminiscent of “Night of the Living Dead”.

Hawkins recieves a message that asks “why did you lie to us?” and then shows a satellite imaging message (like Google Maps) on his computer that shows him with his wife and kids. Then the show ends with Hawkins looking at his computer and the message appears saying,
“See you soon…”

Later, I am going to give some of my thoughts on the season finale of Jericho.

PS. If you were wondering what the episode title “Vox Populi” means, it’s literal meaning in Latin is “voice of the people”.

Heroes makes it in the top Ten

I don’t normally care about the Nielsen ratings, but I just noticed that Heroes made it into the top 10 of the Nielsen ratings. Here is a list of the top twenty shows for last week:

1. “Desperate Housewives,” ABC, 21.43 million viewers.

2. “CSI: Miami,” CBS, 18.54 million viewers.

3. “Grey’s Anatomy,” ABC, 18.51 million viewers.

4. “Fox NFL Sunday Postgame,” Fox, 17.59 million viewers.

5. “Fox NFL Thursday Postgame,” Fox, 17.19 million viewers. — Associated Press

6. “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CBS, 17.17 million viewers.

7. “NCIS,” CBS, 17 million viewers.

8. “Deal or No Deal” (Monday), NBC, 16.97 million viewers.

9. “Criminal Minds,” CBS, 16.56 million viewers.

10. “Heroes,” NBC, 16.03 million viewers.

11. “CSI: NY,” CBS, 15.31 million viewers.

12. “NBC Sunday Night Football,” NBC, 15.22 million viewers.

13. “House,” Fox, 15.20 million viewers.

14. “Two and a Half Men,” CBS, 15.04 million viewers.

15. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” ABC, 14.65 million viewers.

16. “Saturday Night Football,” ABC, 14.64 million viewers.

17. “Law & Order: SVU,” NBC, 14.20 million viewers.

18. “Boston Legal” (Special 1½6), ABC, 13.47 million viewers.

19. “60 Minutes,” CBS, 13.18 million viewers.

20. “ER” (Special 1½3), NBC, 13.04 million view

Of the shows in the top 20 I watched 3 of them. I think Jill watched either 4 or 5 of them. I would personally place Heroes at the top of the list. I like it way better than Desperate Housewives, but Desperate Housewives is definitely an interesting show.

I would also put Jericho into the top 20, but obviously my tv viewing habits don’t fall into the norm. Maybe one week I should try watching all of the shows in the top 20 and see what I think of them.

7 Favorite Scenes from Heroes Chapter 9 “6 Months Ago”

In last night’s episode of Heroes we were taken back to the past, 6 months prior to the last episode of the show. We learned a lot about the characters background in these episodes. Here is my 7 favorite scenes from Heroes “6 months ago”:

1. We found out that Nathan was NOT drunk when his wife got injured in the car accident. Instead he flew out of his seat when being chased by another car. What a bad way to learn about your super power!

2. When Nikki was at her sister’s grave we find out that Nikki’s alter ego is her dead sister, who was killed by their dad.

3. In the scene where Sylar meet’s the guy with the power of telekinesis, we find out that Sylar got his name from a watch.

4. Before hitting the guy with telekenisis powers over the head Sylar says, “I can fix it…. It’s an evolutionary imperative!” We soon find out that Sylar somehow gains the superpowers of other heroes when he kills (fixes) them.

5. The scene where officer Matt Parkman pulls over Eden was funny. Eden says, “Get back in your car and eat a dozen donuts.” Too funny…

6. After being captured, Eden asks Mr. Bennet what they want her to do, and Mr. Bennet tells her to get Claire’s name off of Chandra’s list. It seemed to me like Mr. Bennet is concerned about what his organization would do if they found out Claire had super powers.

7. At the end of the show when Hiro returns to the diner in the present, Hiro says that it is impossible for him to change the past. If that is true then how in the world can he stop the nuclear explosion?

So what was your favorite scene from Heroes last night?

Top 5 People I Thought Were Going to Die on Jericho “Red Flag”

Last night on Jericho, we were waiting all episode to see who would die. I thought they did an excellent job of keeping us in the dark.

Here is my list of the top 5 characters I thought were going to die while watching the show.

1. Gray
Before the show started I thought they might kill of Gray. He can be a bit annoying, but I guess they decided to keep him (for now).

2. Jonah
When his men started to get upset at him about the way he handled things with the mayor, I thought they may revolt and kill him off.

3. Emily
When she stole the truck from her Dad I thought they might kill her off.

4. Stanley
I thought Stanley my get killed by the guys stealing the generator.

5. Mimi Clark
I thought she might die from eating too much of the chocolate (if it was poisoned). Death by chocolate, the only way to go.

Actually, the way the show played out I thought just about every character was going to be killed off. They did a nice job of saving the murder for the end of the show.

So who did you think they were going to kill off?

PS. If you are looking for a good recap of last night’s episode “Red Flag” then check out tvsquad’s recap here or go watch the replay on cbs.com.

Life Before Eden McCain

The newest Heroes comic is called, “Life before Eden”. It is a very interesting look at Eden McCain’s past, before she knew about her superpowers. You can check it out by clicking here.

I wonder how many of the other heroes had a life experience that influenced their super power like Eden did?

Have You Noticed An Ongoing Theme In Heroes

Last night, when we were watching Heroes Jill turned to me an said,

“Heroes has a running theme - Dad’s protecting their kids.”

Mr. Bennet protecting Claire, DL protecting Micah, Chandra Suresh protecting Mohinder Suresh.

There are other people trying to protect people in the show. For instance Nathan trying to protect Peter. However, I think we may find more of this Father-child or Parent-child protection theme continuing throughout the show. We shall see…

Heroes - Chapter 9 - Homecoming was Very Predictable

Heroes is often very predictable. Don’t get me wrong I love Heroes, but at times it is predictable. Here is a list of all the things from last night’s episode that I predicted before they happened:

1. Claire would be nominated Homecoming queen, despite being unpopular.
2. The password on the computer would be Mohinder’s sister’s name.
3. Claire would sneak out her window to go the homecoming.
4. Peter would apprently die at the end, but would be fine because he picks up Claire’s powers (predicted this last week when I saw the preview).
5. Micah would try to call his mom.
6. Simone had a photo of the painting, so there was nothing to worry about when Nathan covered it with black paint.
7. Sylar would kill the wrong cheerleader
8. Peter would be mistaken for Sylar and captured by the police

There were probably other predictable moments, but those are the moments I recall predicting last night (and no I don’t have Isaac’s power of precognition).

Now for some of the things that I found interesting (less predictable) from last night’s show…

Hiro never came back from trying to save the girl. From the looks of it, she was still dead. Where is he? My guess is that he was still trying to fix things. I really hope they don’t start spinning off parallel universes with his adventures, because it might get confusing.

We got to see how powerful Eden McMcain’s superpower is. Mr. Bennet sent Eden to ambush Sylar. I thougth it was pretty cool the way Eden and the Hatian captured Sylar. What are they going to do with him? It should be interesting to find out.

Peter got arrested at the end of the show. I assume that we will get to see him and Parkman together next week. That could become a very interesting thought reading exchange from both of them.

Some people around the net are predicting that the character with the radioactive power is going to be involved in the nuclear explosion. That makes sense, we shall see if that is what happens or not.

I have one other thing to discuss, but I am going to write about that in a separate post.

I am really looking forward to episode 10. If you missed the preview for next week’s episode here is the preview from Canada (different than the preview we saw in the states) and the preview from the US is below it.

US Heroes Episode 10 Preview from NBC:

That’s crazy! Hiro must still be in the past…

Just a quick note about tonight’s show. Apparently, Hiro is still pretty far back in the past, because his blog has only one post on it now.

I went over to Hiro’s blog to see if there was anything interesting to include in my recap of tonight’s episode. Lo and behold it’s as if he never wrote any posts before. It used to have quite a few posts. Pretty funny…

I love this show!

Stop messing with my DVR!

JP over at SfSignal wrote this post, listing some of his annoyances with my favorite show Heroes on NBC. I wanted to talk about his first point:

This one really bugs me to no end and I don’t know whose fault it is. Time Warner’s for having crappy time servers feeding time to the set-top boxes, or NBC for running Heroes long, but the last three episodes I’ve recorded have all ended with at least one minute left, if not more…

It bugs me too. It’s not only NBC though. ABC started this trend of letting shows running longer. LOST, Desparate Housewives, and some other shows always run about 5 minutes past the hour. I noticed FOX doing the same thing sometimes with American Idol. Uggh!

I wish the TV networks would stop doing that. I don’t want to miss the end of the show, because my DVR doesn’t automaticly add 5 mintues to the end of these shows. I don’t want to miss the begining of the next show if it’s on another network. The television networks need to just stop doing this!

That said, it’s not going to stop me from watching LOST or Heroes. It’s just annoying…

PS. What’s even more annoying is trying to set the DVR to record the Amazing Race on Sunday night. It’s nearly impossible to know what time the Amazing Race will be on at, because of the football delays.

Jericho Episode 9: Crossroads Was WAY Better than LOST last night

Jericho was WAY better than LOST last night. Did you see LOST? Oh, that’s right they aren’t on again until February…

Anyway, I really enjoy watching Jericho more and more.

I don’t have much time to talk about last night’s episode. But I did want to mention that my favorite part of last night’s episode was when Robert Hawkins took out one of the bad guys from ravenswood and then pointed the laser at the leader. That was cool!

Would you have blown up the bridge?

I think I would have blown it up to make it easier to protect the city, but I am not sure.

Lastly, (as Jill mentioned) someone is going to die in the next episode. I will be peeved if they start killing off main characters like Jake or Robert. If you didn’t see it last night, you can take a look at the preview for next week’s episode (episode 10) below:

Jericho–Next Episode Someone Dies

In last night’s preview for next week’s Jericho (the fall season finale), it was revealed that someone in Jericho will die. So, who will it be? George and I were trying to figure out who was most likely to go, and we said it most likely wouldn’t be a main character. But Lost has taught us that anyone can be fair game.

So, using the Lost formula– does anyone know if any Jericho regulars have recently been convicted of drunk driving or had some other run-in with the law? This seems to be a sure ticket to getting written off of Lost. Will the same hold true for Jericho? I can’t find anyone who has had recent legal troubles. Anyone else know of any?

What about this Lost sign you’re going to die? A whole episode dedicated to flashbacks about you that seem to culminate in you setting the past to rest. Uh oh, Emily.

And the surefire way to tell that you’re going to die on Lost– having an, um, intimate relationship outside the bounds of marriage (is this a television show or a horror movie?). Hmmm. Looks bad for Mary or Eric.

So, who do you think won’t be back in January (or is it February)?

Dancing With The Stars FINALE

So, the votes are in, and we have a winner. Emmitt Smith is this year’s Dancing With the Stars King. And Cheryl Burke has claimed her second title in two years. I wonder whether they’ll saddle her with someone like Master P next year. Congratulations to Emmitt and Cheryl.

Dancing With The Stars Final 2

Jill watches Dancing With the Stars a lot more than I do, but I just wanted to point out a few quick things.

Emmit Smith should win.

I am not sure what the judges were watching tonight, but Emmit and Cheryl’s free style dance was WAY better than Mario’s free style dance. Emmit took a lot more risks and it was much more entertaining. Mario’s dance seemed very scattered.

One other thing I wanted to mention is that Cheryl Burke seems way better at choreography than any of the other dancers. It always seems like she takes her partner’s strengths into consideration when putting together their routines and she always comes up with something entertaining. I think her choreography was the difference last year in Drew Lachey’s succes and I think it has helped Emmit get this far.

So those are my quick thoughts on Dancing With Stars. What do you think, should Emmit Smith win or should Mario Lopez win?
