Heroes Chapter 6 Comic Book - Stolen Time

Have you seen the latest comic from Heroes? It’s called “Stolen Time”.

It’s a flashback to Nikki and her adventures with DL’s crew. Boy is she strong!

Anyway, it’s kind of interesting that they are doing a flashback in this comic. It’s not like the comic where they gave away that Claire and Brody survived the car crash. Which makes me wonder…

Is Nikki dead or alive?

They can’t kill her off this soon or can they?

Heroes Chapter 6 - Better Halves

As always, I enjoyed last night’s show. As always, the scenes with Hiro and Ando were the most fun to watch.

One thing I was not happy about is how predictable some of the things have been. For instance:

After reading the comic Snapshots, I kind of figured that Nikki’s other half had killed off D.L.’s crew and had taken the money.

Also, very early on I thought the professor’s friend (Eden McCain) was probably spying on Mohinder and working for Mr. Bennet (aka. Claire’s Dad).

That said, there are quite a few questions that I think will be answered in a not so predictable way. For instance, I am not sure whether Claire’s Dad is a good guy or a bad guy. I am starting to think he is a good guy, but who knows?

Then there are questions like: Who is Sylar? How are they going to save the world? Will everyone meet up? Will any of the heroes die?, Is Nikki dead? Will Hiro have to go back in time again and start the whole series over? etc.

One parting note, I was just talking with my coworker John from SfSignal and he mentioned how it sure would have been nice if Hiro’s message to Peter had been,

“Save the cheerleader, Save the world! and…
Oh, by the way she is in Odessa, Texas.

Yep, that would have been helpful!

Heroes Episode 5 Comic - Snapshots

Have you read Heroes episode 5’s comic book “Snapshots” yet?

It appears that DL Hawkins isn’t really a bad guy. Sure he was at one point, but not anymore. This should make tonight’s show all the more interesting.

For those who haven’t seen the trailer for tonight’s episode, double click the play button below to get a sneak peek at what’s in store:

Is The Amazing Race Fixed?

Last year my husband and I joked that The Amazing Race was fixed because every time the hippies were in last place, it was a non-elimination round. Now, history seems to be repeating itself. Even though Kentucky JUST pulled themself up from last place by getting the fast forward last week, this week they ended up at the bottom of the race again. AND… It was a non-elimination round! So, what do you think? Are the non-elimination rounds truly pre-determined OR does the show alter things to allow favorites (or at least more interesting contestants) to stay in the race?

LOST - Every Man for Himself

I am so peeved at ABC that I barely want to write about LOST, but last night’s episode was pretty cool. Anyway, here is a short list of my thoughts on the episode:

1. ABC better not take this show off the air, or we will be LOST forever.

2. I like Desmonds new super power, it should serve him well.

3. Is it just me or is this season of LOST a little slower than it used to be?

Since ABC is cutting the series short this season, I am cutting my comments on the show short…

Well, actually it’s just that it’s late and I have to get to bed:)

Jericho 9:02

Some notable moments from last night’s episode (9:02) of Jericho:

After the missile launch, Robert Hawkins heads straight for home and down into his secret basement hideout. He then quikcly sends out a message on his laptop, “Is it ours or theirs?” The answer he gets back is that they are compromised. Wouldn’t it be nice to know who “they” were?

After the EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) hits, Robert hands out those cool green glow sticks to his family. I’ve got to get some green glow sticks sometime, I am sure the kids would love them!

Fast forward two weeks and the scene starts with a clock stuck on the time 9:02, hence the nifty name for the episode - 9:02.

I kind of found the next scene funny. There were teenagers outside playing baseball with dead cell phones. I am not a big fan of cell phones, so this just made me laugh.

The bar scene where Jake confronts a former friend/enemy was interesting. The fact that Robert stepped in to help, made me wonder whether or not Robert is a good guy or bad guy. I am probably going to overanalyze everything Robert and Jake do, until we find out if they are good or bad.

Later, when Allison Hawkins is looking for her dad in the basement, she winds up finding things she wasn’t supposed to see. She sees the map of the US with pins sitting on the cities that were hit. She also sees a gun and some of his other equipment. When she opens up Robert’s laptop, she see’s Jake Green’s picture. That’s when Robert walks in on her and promptly closes the laptop. This scene was interesting because of the way Robert easily convinced her that he was a good guy. Of course you are going to believe your Dad, but should you?

One of the last scenes where Hawkin’s daughter asks him if Jake is a good guy or a bad guy was a bit frustrating. Yes, Hawkins answer (”There is no such thing”) was a really insightful answer, but I thought maybe he would reveal something about Jake or himself. Nope…

The final scene, ends when Jake goes to the holding cell that Mitchell is in. Mitchell tells Jake that “he” is going to come for both of them. So who is “he”? From the previews it looks like we might find that out next week.

So far I really like this show. In fact, because of the way ABC is screwing up LOST, I actually looked forward to watching it more than I was looking forward to watching LOST last night.

Robert Hawkins Secret Shelter in Jericho

The character Robert Hawkins in Jericho built a secret shelter in his basement, that looks a lot like the first picture in this article on surviving a nuclear attack. His shelter looks like the picture that says “best shelter” under it.

Robert and Jake are by far the most interesting characters in the show. I hope some of the other characters can become as interesting as them.

Anyway, I just thought I would share this with you.

The Most Amazing Thing About The Amazing Race

Just when I thought I’d seen it all on the Amazing Race, a team actually behaves in a completely altruistic fashion? On a race for a million dollars? Are you kidding me?

Erwin and Godwin Cho (the Cho brothers), who were in last place, had a chance to go to the fast forward. David and Mary (”Kentucky”) needed to come in first place to avoid being eliminated (as it turns out, they probably could have taken the 30 minute penalty and still have been in the race, but who knew that at the time). So, would their alliance hold up? Or was it going to be a case of one alliance member gets the fast forward, the other goes home?

As it turns out, not only did the Cho brothers allow “Kentucky” to go for the fast forward, they successfully discouraged others from going for it, allowing Kentucky a first place finish and another week in the race.

I have long said that The Amazing Race is interesting because it always seems to bring out either the best or the worst in people (and sometimes both). I have watched teams that I did not enjoy blossom into my favorites and watched my favorites deteriorate into whiny, pushy, bratty or just plain mean “ugly Americans”.

I’ve liked the Chos since the beginning, but I’m really impressed by their ability to stick by their alliance. I’ve honestly never seen an alliance work in The Amazing Race– oh, sure, maybe for one leg or in one competition, but then it’s usually back to “dog eat dog”.

It will be interested to see if the Cho/Bama/Kentucky alliance gets them to the end. And even more interesting to see if one of them will turn on the others before it’s all over. If that happens, my money’s on Bama to be the traitors. But we’ll see… I hope that isn’t the case.

Save the Cheerleader - Save the World

Today’s episode of Heroes was called “Hiros”. A better title might have been, “Save the Chreerleader, Save the World”.

I now consider NBC’s Heroes to be the best show on TV. I thought this weeks episode was SO COOL! I can hardly wait for next week’s episode.

Here are some of my favorite moments from the show:

1. When Nathan escapes from Claire’s Dad by flying away. Oh my goodness! That was one of the coolest scenes I have seen on TV in a while.

2. When Hiro says to Nathan, “up, up and away!”

3. When Nathan asks for four million dollars.

4. When Hiro’s sidekick (Ando) says “I don’t know why I am on this stupid trip.” and Hiro replies by saying, “I’ve told you now a hundred times. To save the world.”

It kind of reminded me of Pinky and the Brain - “The same thing we do every night, Pinky . . . Try to take over the world! ”

5. When Nathan walks into the diner in just his pajama bottoms.

6. When Hiro is trying to figure out how to drive the car and he says, “Maybe there are instructions.”

7. At the end when Peter answers the phone and says, “I have a message for you”. To be continued…

Lastly, I thought the PS from Hiro’s latest blog post was so funny:

P.S. I also heard some waitresses saying “mudslide”. Is that opposite of “landslide”? Like “you lose election by mudslide”?

Those were some of my favorite moments from this episode, so what was your favorite part of the show?

6 Episodes of Lost then wait until February???

I just read this interesting post about LOST. Here is an excerpt of the post:

So ABC decided to air 6 episodes of Lost in the fall with a cliffhanger intended to sate fans’ appetites until the drama returns in mid-February. But will the audience come back?

Well that just sucks!

I don’t want to wait for Lost to come back in February. I want to see what happens, now! I am concerned that ABC might lose Lost.

Well, at least NBC has announced they are keeping Heroes (my second favorite show on tv) for the season.

I hope ABC changes their mind about Lost, because I might lose my interest in Lost if they put it on hiatus that long.

Lost Cast Member Josh Holloway to be in Video Game

I just read some interesting news that Josh Holloway (Sawyer) from Lost is going to be in a new video game, along with some other notable actors.

You can read the full article here.

Pretty cool.

Jericho - Federal Response - There is a Fire

Jericho is one of those shows that I didn’t really think I would enjoy. However, I have found it to be surprisingly fun to watch. Some of the story lines are a little lame, but a few of the characters (namely Jake and Hawkins) are very intriguing. That combined with not knowing what is going on, and the cliffhanger endings keeps me coming back for more.

Anyway, last night’s episode created a few more questions to answer, here are some of them:

1. Why didn’t Jake press Hawkins about the satcom terminal?

2. What is Jake’s secret?

3. Are the missiles at the end in retaliation for the strike or are they further strikes?

4. What the heck is Hawkins doing on a russian website?

5. Is Hawkins a good guy or bad guy? (I am still not sure)

Also, if you were wondering about the morse code in the show, this thread on the Jericho Forum, will be keeping a running of tab of the morse code. So far the morse code from the show is:

#1 JERICHO PILOT
#2 JERICHO FALLO
#3 JERICHO THREE
#4 HE KNOWS ROB
#5 THERE IS A FIRE

The message copied by Hawkins was:

DELTA CODE DELTA 2 MINUTE WARNING U

SCORE REMAINS SCORELESS

Pretty cool!

Lastly, they have picked up the show for the entire year, which is good news for all of us Jericho fans.

LOST - Further Instructions

So tonight on LOST we finally got back to the other side of the island with the Losties. As always quite interesting. I am a bit sleepy right now, so I am just going to mention a few quick things I noticed in this episode:

Locke’s whole hallucination in the sweat tent was a little creepy. I think there was surely some hidden meaning in it.

Didn’t you find it weird that Locke found the toy dump truck in the cave?

The scene when Hurley found Desmond was pretty hilarious.

Is Ecko alive? Surely they won’t kill off his character, because of the off-screen driving incident, right?

Was it just me or was this episode of LOST a little shorter than usual?

And lastly…

Desmond has a superpower - He can see into the future. Cool!
